Jung-gu Wednesday Maebongsan Forest-Scent Trekking *** Hiking Safety Training / First Aid Program *** Who: Anyone fit for hiking. Adults (age 69 or younger) / Grade 1 elementary students and older *** Minors must be accompanied by a guardian *** Capacity: 2–10 people / If 9 of 10 participants cancel and only 1 reservation remains, the program will be canceled (individual notice provided) Time: Every Wednesday, 10:00–15:00 +/- Meet: Seoul Broadcasting High School bus stop at 10:00 AM From Exit 5 of Yaksu Station, go straight to the Yaksu Police Precinct bus stop and take Seongdong Village Bus No. 12 for two stops. Get off at Seoul Broadcasting High School bus stop / It is also a 10-minute walk from Yaksu Station. What: After introductions and stretching at the Maebongsan rest area, practice first aid and trek along the forest trail. 1- Mountain safety: CPR practice, bandaging, triangular bandages, responding when stranded, rescue knots, orienteering, and more 2- Hiking basics: Walking, breathing, wearing and packing a backpack, using trekking poles, tying hiking boots, and more 3- Hiking culture: LNT (Leave No Trace), protecting nature, and more Bring: Hiking boots (trekking shoes permitted), a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, arm sleeves, Beomulri anti-itch medicine, insect repellent, a hiking chair, a seat cushion, cup, drinking water, a light meal (snack, lunch), and other personal items. Light food (trail food—bread, juice, dried fruit, fruit, nutrition bars, snacks, and other carbohydrates) *** Avoid foods that spoil easily in hot weather *** 1- Food you enjoy. 2- High-calorie food (mainly carbohydrates)—meat is not recommended. 3- Light and ready-to-eat food. 4- Pack to minimize waste. 5- Minimize the use of disposable items. Route: The route and finishing time may be shortened, extended, or changed depending on conditions that day. (Heavy rain, heavy snow, strong wind, or cold wave advisory/warning) Other decisions will depend on conditions, and you will be notified by text message if the program is canceled. *** Important Information Anyone absent without notice (no-show) will be barred from applying for all leisure programs for 2 months, regardless of the number of no-shows.
